2. Reaching the Right People
One key to finding and using libraries and research materials at Harvard is finding the right people to talk with about your research. This page provides links that should help you reach those people across the many libraries.
Research Contacts
Consult the list of Library Liaisons and Research Contacts.
Librarians designated as Library Liasons have responsibilities to support specific academic departments and programs and tend to work closely with Harvard students, faculty and staff, offering individual research consultations, custom-designed library research classes, and web-based research guides, as well as subject-specialized advice.
Librarians designated as Research Contacts also have specific knowledge in the designated subject area and also welcome opportunities to work with students.
Some graduate students find it helpful to work with more than one librarian.
Essential Library Telephone Numbers
You can ask for research assistance in person, by telephone, or by email. Our Reference Desk Contact Info page provides phone numbers for reference services in each of the libraries in the Harvard College Library. Further details about a library's services can be found on each library's web site, so links to library web sites are provided on this page as well.
