Online Databases

American Film Scripts Online

American Film Scripts Online, produced or written in the 20th century; includes independent films as well as those created by major studios. Covers 1901-2000.

Academic Search Premier is particularly good for articles on film and film reviews, many of which will be full text.

FIAF International FilmArchive Database

The FIAF International FilmArchive Database is published by the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) and contains several databases: the International Index to Film Periodicals, the International Index to Television Periodicals, the List of Periodicals Indexed, the Treasures from the Film Archives, the Bibliography of FIAF Members Publications and the International Directory of Film and TV Documentation Collections.

The main database, the International Index to Film Periodicals indexes articles in more than 300 periodicals. The database, which cumulates citations from the annual printed volume, offers in-depth coverage of the worlds foremost academic and popular film journals from 1972 to the present. Each entry consists of a full bibliographic description and comprehensive headings (biographical names, film titles and general subjects). A hierarchically ordered controlled thesaurus, containing more than 20,000 subject terms, is available.

Film Index International

Film Index International is based on SIFT (Summary of Information on Film and Television), a database collated by the British Film Institute. It covers films from 170 countries with information on about 100,000 films and biographical details of 40,000 personalities, with references to periodical articles.
