Endnote software is available as a free download for Harvard FAS Faculty, Staff and Students. |
EndNote is citation management software that allows users to search hundreds of online library catalogues (including HOLLIS) and e-resources for the purpose of creating personal reference libraries and generating bibliographies.
Harvard users with a current ID/PIN can also use RefWorks, a web-based citation management program to organize their bibliographies. For an overview of RefWorks (including a comparison of Endnote vs. RefWorks features), see our Using RefWorks at Harvard guide.
This guide is intended as a general overview of Endnote software for students, faculty, librarians, and other members of the Harvard community. It outlines the basic functionality and features of the software, how to search and import HOLLIS catalog records, importing citations from databases, and tips for using Endnote with Microsoft Word. This guide is based on Endnote 9 for Microsoft Windows.
