1. Introduction
This guide is intended to bring together a variety of sources for you to explore in conducting your library research on nonprofits. This is a selective list with an emphasis on Harvard resources.
There are at least two research centers or programs at Harvard with a focus on nonprofits. The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations is an interdisciplinary research center at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Librarians from the Kennedy School Library have created a guide, The Nonprofit Sector to assist you with your research. The Social Enterprise Initiative is a program of the Harvard Business School. Librarians at the Baker Library at the Business School have created a guide titled, Social Enterprise.
Each of the guides approaches the subject of nonprofit organizations from a different perspective with some overlap in coverage. This guide has been developed with your specific course in mind.
