Le Site était “constituée en 2001 grâce à l'appui, notamment, de Francine Lancelot, et récemment inscrite au répertoiredes sociétés savantes. Notre but est de travailler à la restitution des pratiques en usage durant la période qui nous intéresse, principalement pour le répertoire français, mais qu'on ne peut isoler évidemment des autres répertoires européens. Nous avons donc vocation à nous intéresser à la déclamation et à l'action du comédien, au chant et à la musique instrumentale, à la danse, aux costumes, décorations, éclairages, etc. et à l'interaction entre toutes ces composantes."

The database was created by the University of Minnesota's Wilson Library Electronic Text Research Center in consultation with ARTFL and development is ongoing.
