Harvard Libraries

Most of the resources described in this guide are housed in our electronic resource portal, "HARVARD LIBRARIES." Located at http://lib.harvard.edu, the Library’s website is the port of entry to three types of resources: Harvard’s and other library catalogs, electronic resources of all kinds and home pages and information about Harvard’s libraries.

  • HOLLIS Catalog

The University Library’s catalog contains over 9 million records for 14 million+ items (books, print and electronic journals, sound recordings, manuscripts, visual materials, maps, government documents, CD-ROMS, etc.) held by Harvard's libraries.

  • E-resources

Electronic resources available via the portal include dictionaries, encyclopedias, directories, electronic journals and texts, indexes to journal articles, newsmedia, etc. Resources may be searched by keyword, by subject and by type of resource.

  • Libraries

This section of the portal provides links to library home pages and information onlibrary collections, hours, locations, policies, events and exhibitions.
