ebrary Academic Complete

The ebrary Academic Complete collection offers online books in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences; it also contains over 1,000 maps. The ebrary database allows full-text searching of the entire collection. Most books are recently published (2000-) and titles from a variety of university and professional presses as well as academic and commercial publishers are included. Instructions on downloading the ebrary Reader to personal computers are found on the first page. Contains the Concise Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy. For other titles, a keyword search on Routledge and philosophy (Advanced search, both in text) will give you a listing of Routledge encyclopedias, guidebooks and histories in full text).

Includes notebooks, lectures, and other compositions on mathematics, pragmatism, metaphysics, logic, linguistics, and the history of science. Also includes correspondence which ranges over much of Peirce's private and professional life as well as separate files of Peirce family correspondence. The bulk of the collection is included in: Microfilm Edition of the Charles S. Peirce Papers in the Houghton Library of Harvard University (Cambridge: Widener Photographic Services, 1964; supplement 1971) 38 reels (35 mm). Deposited by the Philosophy Department, Harvard University, and transferred from Harvard University Archives, 1960.

James, William, 1842-1910. Papers, 1803-1941 (inclusive) 1862-1910 (bulk).

Contains personal and professional correspondence of William James, mostly letters written by him, including over 1300 to his wife Alice and over 400 to his brother Henry; and compositions including manuscripts, drafts, and notes on psychology, philosophy, religion, and Herbert Spencer; as well as addresses, lectures, articles, diaries, 1865-1910 (with gaps), address books and notebooks with reading lists, sketches, and notes James took as a student.

The collection also contains correspondence of James's parents and wife, early James family papers, daguerreotypes and photographs of the James family, an account book, scrapbooks, clippings, and miscellaneous material. Also includes manuscripts by others including student notes from his classes, and articles on his work; letters to Ralph Barton Perry from James's students and correspondence concerning Perry's TheThought and Character of William James; correspondence of Henry James III in his search for William James letters; and printed material about William James.
