Use the indexes listed below to look for articles written in scholarly journals on topics of interest to Celtic studies. Some of these online indexes offer full text. Also, a number of major celtic studies journals offer their full contents electronically via Harvard's subscription. Consult the list of Selected Celtic Studies Journals for more information. Online indexes and full-text databases which require a Harvard PIN are marked with a symbol.

Finding Articles Using Online Indexes

Academic Search Premier
Index for scholaraly publications, primarily from American or British publishers. You'll find articles from many journals that cover Celtic studies, many of which provide the full text, such as Innes Review and Irish Studies Review.

ABELL
The Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL) contains 860,000 records, covering monographs, periodical articles, critical editions of literary works, book reviews and collections of essays published anywhere in the world from 1920 onwards.

CSANA Bibliography
Produced by the Celtic Studies Association of North American, this index includes a broad range of materials, including journal articles relevant to the study of Celtic languages and literatures.

MLA Bibliography
The MLA International Bibliography, indexes articles, book chapters, and other materials pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore, and includes coverage from 1963 to the present.

Historical Abstracts
An index to articles published in scholarly publication in the field of history. Each citation includes a brief synopsis of the article. Historical Abstracts also includes citations to disseratations in history and area studies.

Linquistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA)
The LLBA indexes and provides abstracts for journal articles from over 1200 journals in all areas of language and linguistics.

IBZ (Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriftenliteratur)
The IBZ is an index to academic periodical literature mainly from the Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts. It includes over 2,400,000 journal articles from about 10,700 primarily European and American journals from 1983 to the present.

International Medieval Bibliography
This bibliography of journal articles, essay collections and conference proceedings covers a multitude of humanities disciplines. Dates covered range from 400 to 1500 A.D., and geographic coverage includes Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
