[Map of New England and New France] in Samuel Purchas, Purchas his Pilgrimes in Five Bookes, London: Printed by William Stansby for Henrie Fetherstone, 1625. This map, by Sir William Alexander, is one of the earliest to show Cape Cod and marks the St. Lawrence River as the Great River of Canada.

“Carte Geographiqve de la Novvelle Franse faictte par le Sievr de Champlain” in Samuel de Champlain, Les voyages … Pars, 1613. This is the first map to indicate a chain of Great Lakes and the first to show Lake Champlain and Montreal.
