Junior Parents Gather at Widener
March 8, 2011 - Hundreds of parents had the opportunity to see what is new in Harvard libraries last week as part of Harvard College Library’s annual Junior Parents Weekend Reception. Held in the West Stacks Reading Room of Widener Library, the well-received event gave parents the chance to talk one-on-one with librarians about library services and collections, including Harvard’s expansive science collections, music collections and multi-media resources students can incorporate into their class work. Librarians were also on hand to talk with parents about research assistance available to students, about the preservation and digitization of library materials, and to offer tours of the library. Organized by Services for Academic Programs and coordinated by Pam Matz, the event included staff from Cabot Science, Collection Development, Loeb Music, Maps, Media Data and Government Information, Preservation and Imaging Services, Reference Services and Learning Technology and Widener Access Services.
