HCL Staff Participate in Yardswap
Laura Totten, Executive Assistant/Web Coordinator for Communications, drops off items at the Summer Yardswap event.
June 23, 2010 – Clothes, books, movies, toys, board games, office supplies, even printers and cameras – all were free for the taking at the Summer Yardswap, a “freecycle” event held yesterday outside the Science Center. The event drew donations and interest from students and staff throughout Harvard, including several Harvard College Library staff members who dropped off items in the hope others might be interested in them.
Among those dropping off items was Lamont Library Reference Assistant Colleen Bryant, who stopped yesterday morning to drop off a number of VHS movies.
“I didn’t want to throw them out, they’re still usable,” she said, of the movies. “This sort of event is a great idea, I may stop by later to look at the books that are here.”
The event was sponsored by the FAS Green Program, the HCL Green Team and the Harvard Office for Sustainability.
