Chinese Official Presents Material to Harvard-Yenching

December 14, 2010 – Approximately 1,000 Chinese publications and two full-text databases of Chinese newspapers were recently presented to Harvard-Yenching Library by Dr. Lin Gan, Vice Governor of Hunan Province, and a New World Senior Fellow at the Kennedy School.

The publications, which cover many subjects in the social sciences, and the databases, of Shanghai People’s Daily and Shen Bao newspapers, were presented to the library in a ceremony held recently at the Cambridge Hyatt Regency Hotel, in conjunction with a trade conference sponsored by the provincial governments of Hunan Province and Massachusetts in the field of biomedicine and biochemistry.  

Dr. Gan will complete her program at the Kennedy School in mid-December and is expected to return to China by the end of the year.
