July 23, 2010 – Taking advantage of Widener Library’s prime location overlooking Harvard Yard, one of several hawks that call Harvard home took up a perch on the library’s roof Thursday afternoon.
The hawk alighted just to the left of Widener’s main stairs, causing a brief stir among visitors to Harvard Yard, many of whom tried to snap photos of the bird.
The excitement, however, was short-lived – after about 30 minutes, the hawk flew off, perhaps in search of a less conspicuous perch.
