The Isham Memorial Library, a special library adjunct, is dedicated to research with primary sources and is a major resource for scholarly research. Isham collections include microforms, published facsimiles, rare books and manuscripts, and Harvard dissertations in music. Isham also houses Loeb Music's general archival collections, including the Boulanger collection and papers of individual scholars, as well as special collections such as the Biblioteca Mozartiana Eric Offenbacher (BMEO).

The Richard F. French Gallery currently holds the exhibition "Nadia Boulanger and Her American Composition Students," which was created by Sarah Adams, Keeper of the Isham Memorial Library and graduate student Elizabeth Craft. The exhibit focuses on Nadia Boulanger, one of the foremost composition teachers of the 20th century, especially her American ties and her influence on generations of American composers. Items on display include compositions written by Boulanger and her students, as well as material related to classes Boulanger taught at Harvard and Radcliffe.

Another important division of the Loeb Music Library is the Audio Preservation Studio (APS), located off-site, which is staffed by David Ackerman, Audio Preservation Engineer, and Bruce Gordon, Audio Engineer. The Loeb Music Library developed the studio to preserve, reformat, and reproduce audio materials in the library collections. Now integral to the library's preservation program, APS is a state-of-the-art facility. APS's primary client is the Harvard College Library, but the studio also accepts projects from other Harvard units, as well as from outside the University.
