Lamont Reference Assistant Steve Kuehler leads a RefWorks training session this week. The library will host three more sessions in the coming days.

October 22, 2008 - Students hoping to learn to use RefWorks in time to write midterm papers are in luck - librarians at Lamont are holding classes on the online bibliographic tool in the coming days.

Lamont Reference Assistant Steve Kuehler and Reserves Assistant Chris Lenney will lead 50-minute training sessions in RefWorks October 23, 29 and 30. The sessions are designed to introduce students to the basics of RefWorks, from the initial sign-up process through transforming references into various bibliography styles.

"RefWorks allows people to create a bibliography and format it as they write their paper," Kuehler said. "The faculty and instructors are encouraging students to use it, and we've discovered that once students learn how to use it, they find it indispensible."

All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend, but registration is necessary because space is limited. To register, contact Kuehler at kuehler@fas.harvard.edu or Lenney at lenney@fas.harvard.edu, or visit the Research Services Desk on Lamont Level B.
