HCL Employees Enjoy "Coffee and Conversation"

October 29, 2008 - Dozens of HCL employees gathered at the Cambridge Queen's Head Tuesday morning for the chance to talk informally with co-workers and Roy E. Larsen Librarian of Harvard College Nancy Cline.

The event was the second "Coffee and Conversation" meeting, and was aimed at giving college library staff a chance to get to know each other in a more casual atmosphere, Cline said. The first meeting was held last November.

"We're so big and we have so many locations, there are very few opportunities for us to get together without an agenda," Cline said. "It's nice to meet some newer employees and to see new employees meet others."

Among employees, the informal coffee idea has been a hit.

"I've been here a long time, and when somebody is new, it's hard to understand how things are organized," said Kathy Hunter Rutter, the head of the French and Italian Technical Services Division. "This is a great way to get to know people. I think it's good for everybody."
