Houghton Offers New Holiday Greeting Cards

New Card: The Noyon Missal, Northern France, 13th Century, Illuminated manuscript on vellum
December 16, 2002 - The Noyon Missal, an illuminated manuscript from 13th century Northern France, and Giardino de scrittori, a decorative alphabet engraving by Marco Antonio Rossi grace the covers of Houghton Library’s holiday greeting cards this season. Holiday cards from past years are also available, such as the popular watercolor Harvard Yard in Snow by Chiang Yee and the photograph Snow Scene on the Northeast Corner of the Boston Common,1850’s. All are blank on the inside.

Cards can be purchased for $1.50 each at the Houghton Shop, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. The shop also features assorted packs of 15 holiday cards for $15.00, and packs of remnant cards for $6.00. Individual members of the Friends of the Harvard College Library receive a 10 per cent discount and Harvard departments (i.e., History, Human Resources) receive a 20 per cent discount on their purchases.

While holiday cards are sold only during the season, the Houghton Shop offers an assortment of postcards and greeting cards year-round.
