Harvard-Yenching Library's 2002 Holiday Greeting Cards Now Available
December 16, 2002 - Annually, images and passages from Harvard-Yenching rare volumes are used to create holiday greeting cards and note cards. This year, Raymond Lum, Librarian for the Western Languages Collection in the Harvard-Yenching Library, has selected a photograph of a man shadow boxing on ice for the cover of the greeting card. The image is part of German photographer Hedda Morrison’s collection of prints documenting 1930s and 40s China, which were recently cataloged and digitized -- other photographs in the Morrison collection can be viewed at http://www-hcl.harvard.edu/harvard-yenching/morrison/. The note card features illustrations from a Japanese folktale translated into French. No greeting is written on the cards, so they can be used for any occasion. Cards from past years are also available.
The cards come in packages of twelve, at a cost of $8.00 per pack. If you are interested in purchasing a set of cards, please contact Jessica Eykholt at 5-3327.
