Librarians Participate in President's Installation

October 12, 2001 -- Harvard librarians who are members of the faculty took part in the opening procession for the installation of President Lawrence H. Summers, Friday, October 12.

Onlookers gather on the steps of Widener to watch the academic procession.

Harvard College librarians who are members of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences gather in the College Librarian's Office before the installation: Jeffrey Horrell, Associate Librarian of Harvard College for Collections; Lynda Leahy, Associate Librarian of Harvard College for Research and Instruction; Nancy Cline, Roy E. Larsen Librarian of Harvard College; William Stoneman, Florence Fearrington Librarian of Houghton Library.


Faculty who are members of the University Library Council gather in front of Boylston Hall in preparation for the procession: Sidney Verba, Carl H. Pforzheimer University Professor and Director of the Harvard University Library; John W. Collins III, Librarian of Monroe C. Gutman Library; Jane Knowles, Acting Director of the Schlesinger Library and Radcliffe Archives; Hugh Wilburn, Librarian and Assistant Dean for Information Services; Jeffrey Horrell, Associate Librarian of Harvard College for Collections; Nancy Cline, Roy E.
