Ernest R. May Book Fund
The fund was endowed in honor of Ernest R. May (1928-2009), Charles Warren Professor of American History at Harvard University, to commemorate his scholarship in the fields of diplomatic and international history. The May Fund shall be used for the acquisition and preservation of materials which extend and enhance library collections documenting international history, including the study of diplomacy, military affairs, public attitudes, economic ties, intelligence matters, the character of relevant people and institutions, and other areas of historical investigation. Acquisitions should be comprised of significant works of contemporary scholarship from the sixteenth century to the present day, with special attention given to the 19th century and later.
