About The Fund

The bequest of Kent C. Day, Ph.D. 1974 to establish a fund at the Tozzer Library, with a preference that the donation be administered in the following manner. One-third of the income should be used to purchase books or other material in fields relative to Middle and South America, or more broadly, the New World; one-third of the income should be used for the restoration and preservation of old and rare books and documents in the Tozzer collection; and one-third of the income should be used for cataloging, indexing, and other means of accessing the collections in order to benefit the research potential of the Tozzer Library. If the Tozzer Library needs to deviate from these instructions, the income distributions may be modified at the discretion of the Librarian of Harvard College and the Librarian of the Tozzer Library.
