Henry L. Pierce Fund 1986 Bequest of Henry L. Pierce, "the income only to be applied to such uses and purposes as the managers shall deem will most advance the usefulness of that institution." On October 24, 1898, it was voted to establish the Henry L. Pierce Fund, the income to be used for the purchase of books for the University Library.
