Henry Saltonstall Howe Fund 1986 Henry Saltonstall Howe, Class of 1869, bequeathed to the College Library "my books from the libraries of the presidents of the United States and my sets of first editions of Jane Austen, George Eliot and Thomas Hardy and such 100 additional books of mine having an association interest as it may select." He also established a fund in trust for the purchase of books preferably those having an association interest.
