Gardner - Stepanov Fund

Year Established 1986

About The Fund

The gift of George Peabody Gardner A.B. 1970 to establish an endowed fund at the Fine Arts Library in honor and memory of members of the Gardner and Stepanov families. The income from this fund is to be used for the acquisition and preservation of the publications on the topic of Slavic art with a preference for books about icons, paintings, drawings, and sculpture created by Russian artists prior to 1917. This fund should also be used to support the conservation and preservation of those books on this subject that were donated by George Peabody Gardner in 1994. Further, as technology changes the formats of material available in this subject area, the income from the fund may be used to support access to and acquisitions of electronic as well as printed resources.
