Harvard College Library Funds

The Roland B. Dixon Fund

Year Established 1986

About The Fund

The residuary bequest of Professor Roland B. Dixon, Class of 1897, to be known as The Roland B. Dixon Fund. The entire income of said fund, shall be used by the Library of Harvard College for the purchase of books relating to anthropology and archaeology, not including, however, under this term, classical archaeology. I direct that in the selection of books purchased preference shall be given to those relating to the American Indians of both North and South America, so that as far as possible a complete collection of books on this subject shall be obtained. If the income from this Fund is more than sufficient for the purchase of books relating to the American Indians of North and South America, I direct that the income remaining shall be applied, first, to the purchase of books relating to the anthropology and archaeology of other parts of the world; and, second, to the purchase of books relating to travel, exploration and history in the order named.
