Extended Loan Period Program

G1–G3 GSAS students only

Currently graduate students can borrow books for a 28-day period with the option to renew in 28-day increments. A program is in place in Widener, Fine Arts, and Loeb Music libraries that extends the borrowing period to a term with the option to renew online up to five times. Due dates for extended privileges will be either February 10 or September 10, depending upon when the items are checked out. All material is subject to recall.

Graduate students who wish to participate in the Extended Loan Period Program must apply in person at the Library Privileges Office, Widener Library, Room 130, between 9:00 am and 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday, or at the Widener Circulation Desk after these hours and on weekends. Applicants will be eligible for the new privileges three business days after their application is submitted. Extended loan borrowing privileges only apply to regular circulating material. Overdue fines and replacement costs will be billed through the Harvard University Term Bill Office.
