Directed by Jack Arnold
US 1958, 35mm, b/w, 77 min.
With Arthur Franz, Joanna Cooke Moore, Troy Donahue
As science professor Donald Blank (Franz) studies a mysterious prehistoric fish, it soon becomes clear that animals that come into contact with the ancient creature “de-evolve” and become like their early ancestors. These primitive beasts horrify the students and faculty, and eventually Professor Blank himself is transformed. At the time of Monster on the Campus, Jack Arnold had had extensive experience working in the science-fiction/horror genre, having already directed Creature From the Black Lagoon, It Came from Outer Space, and The Incredible Shrinking Man.
