FAS Library Directors and HCL Senior Managers began working together to discuss annual and long-term planning and to strategize opportunities for FAS Libraries collaboration within the existing community of FAS Libraries. Together, they identified six core programs and areas of expertise:
- Specialists in scholarly and curricular support
- Specialists in collection and content development
- Specialists in informational tools, formats and computational scholarship
- Program and service developers
- Internal operational partners
- Library leaders
The mission of the HCL and FAS Libraries is to advance the research, teaching, and learning of faculty, students, and researchers in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Harvard University, and the world-wide scholarly community. Expert staff accomplish these goals as they provide innovative services and support, ensure comprehensive access to information resources and tools and build unparalleled collections. The FAS Library Organization work as a partner with Harvard Library to develop our shared capabilities to create, disseminate, locate, and preserve knowledge.
