Welcome to the Harvard College Library & FAS Libraries.
The Harvard Library system encompasses more than 70 libraries and 16 million items. Of them, nearly two-thirds of the collection is part of the Harvard College Library (HCL), a centrally administered unit within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) comprised of 11 libraries and the Harvard Film Archive, Map Collection and Theatre Collection.
The Harvard College Library works closely and in shared purpose with six other libraries directly associated with FAS departments, institutes and museums to welcome and support patrons from Harvard and the global community of scholars and researchers.
This community of FAS Libraries came together in December 2012 to steadily bring their efforts into closer alignment with the curricular goals of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
